JEP­KOS­GEI PLAN

WORLD half-marathon record-holder Joy­ci­line Jep­kos­gei plans to run again in Va­len­cia at the IAAF World Half-Marathon Cham­pi­onships on March 24.

Af­ter that she aims to tackle the full marathon late next year or in 2019 with a view to rep­re­sent­ing Kenya at 26.2 miles at the 2019 World Cham­pi­onships in Doha and

2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

MEL WATMAN apol­o­gises for an er­ror in his re­view of David Thur­low’s book. Harold Whit­lock was, of course, Olympic 50km walk cham­pion in 1936.

FRANKIE CHARGE

FRANKIE FRED­ER­ICKS has been charged with money laun­der­ing and cor­rup­tion. The ex-sprinter has been ac­cused of ac­cept­ing a bribe from Papa Mas­sata Di­ack on the day Rio won the IOC’s vote to stage the 2016 Olympics but claims the money was for con­sul­tancy work for the IAAF.
