DOUBLE BUGGY WORLD BEST
JESSICA BRUCE has set a world marathon best for a marathon while pushing a double buggy.
The mother-of-two from Bristol clocked 3:22:05 in Abingdon and told the BBC the pram was “huge with really big wheels and full-on suspension and, with the two of them in the buggy, I’m pushing about 30kg”.
She added: “Hills are particularly difficult, downs are a bit easier and we tend to go faster there but flats and any kind of incline really hurt.
“It’s a long time in the seat [for children, Daniel and Emilia] but there’s so much going on and they absolutely love it.”
The Headington Road Runner is a former Welsh international runner and Oxford University athlete and has also broken the world best for running a marathon with a single baby buggy – with a time of 3:17:52 – whereas her non-buggy-pushing marathon PB is 2:58.
