Lambo lifts lid on hot Aventador drop-top
LAMBORGHINI HAS launched its most powerful drop-top Aventador at Frankfurt.
The Aventador S Roadster has a 730bhp, 509lb ft 6.5-litre V12, can hit 62mph from rest in 3.0sec and reach a maximum speed of 217mph — just one tenth of a second and 2mph down respectively on its hard-top sibling.
Like the Aventador S coupé, the S Roadster gets an active rear wing and aerodynamic addenda to increase downforce by 130% over its predecessor. The addition of the removable roof adds just 50kg, bringing the kerb weight to 1625kg.
Drive is sent to all four wheels via Lamborghini’s seven-speed robotised Independent Shifting Rod transmission, which is said to switch ratios in 50 milliseconds.
The Aventador S Roadster is on sale from £301,754, making it £30,608 more expensive than the regular Aventador S. First deliveries are expected in February next year.
