Change for the best

I was very happy to see the first report on the BMW M135i that you are planning to modify (Our Cars, 16 August).

As car mad as we must be to buy magazines every week, I too enjoy modifying my BMW M3 (E46) in subtle ways to enhance its alreadyimpressive performance.

For me, upgraded eight-piston brakes on the front were required after almost setting fire to the stock items on track not long after purchase. Since then, poly bushing all round plus the dreaded boot floor repair/upgrade have resulted in a much more controlled ride.

Of course, the engine has been remapped, with a slightly fruitier (but still neighbour-friendly) exhaust system added. I look forward with great interest to see your car develop. Kerry Giddings Bewdley, Worcs Read about the first upgrade to our M135i on page 72 – MB
