Poor tyre main­te­nance was the most com­mon rea­son for car ac­ci­dents in Bri­tain last year, ac­cord­ing to new govern­ment fig­ures. Across 12 months, 446 ac­ci­dents were linked to de­fec­tive tyres. The next big­gest cause was faulty brakes.
