WHY is a facelifted model my star? Well, beneath the GT3’S tweaked looks there are big changes. The rearmounted flat-six is enlarged to 4.0 litres and revs to an ear-ringing 9,000rpm, and the suspension and steering have been revised using lessons learned in racing.
Yet the big news is the option of a six-speed manual box. Taken from last year’s limited-run 911 R, it promises to deliver an extra level of engagement. In this bumper year of new metal, it’ll be the GT3 that gets my heart beating fastest.
