Verdict

A BMW M2 is sharper to drive and a Ford Focus RS represents better value for money, but the RS 3 remains a thoroughly capable and resolved package that blends pace, poise and practicality in equal measure. Small improvements have made the new Audi better to drive than its predecessor. And although this new RS 3 Saloon is destined to be a big seller mainly in the American and Chinese markets, it’s a welcome and handsome addition to the range.
