257bhp GSI to lead In­signia range

VAUXHALL has in­tro­duced a new flag­ship GSI model to the In­signia range fea­tur­ing chas­sis tweaks, a new 257bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol en­gine and four-wheel drive.

Set to de­but at the Frank­furt Mo­tor Show in Septem­ber, the per­for­mance­based In­signia has been de­vel­oped at the Nür­bur­gring in Ger­many.

A unique sus­pen­sion set-up has been added, com­pris­ing 10mm shorter springs and spe­cially de­vel­oped shock ab­sorbers to re­duce body roll.

Brembo brakes, op­tional 20-inch al­loy wheels and sticky Miche­lin Pi­lot Sport 4 S tyres fea­ture, along­side a torque-vec­tor­ing sys­tem on the rear axle, which is able to ac­cel­er­ate each rear wheel in­di­vid­u­ally.

Unique sports seats, a flat-bot­tomed steer­ing wheel and GSI badg­ing add some racy ap­peal to the in­te­rior.
