Velar and Discovery vie for World Car of the Year crown
THE contenders for the 2018 World Car of the Year have been revealed, with the Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery flying the flag for the UK.
Other nominees include the SEAT Ibiza, Volvo XC60 and Peugeot 3008.
A handful of models that have yet to be officially revealed, including the Volvo XC40 and BMW X2, are on the shortlist. The winner will be announced next March.
The WCOTY is independently ranked as the planet’s top automotive awards programme. Auto Express veterans Steve Fowler and Mike Rutherford are two of the 70-plus WCOTY jurors across the globe.
