UK factory boost as Sunderland gets Leaf
NISSAN has confirmed that the secondgeneration Leaf EV will be built in the UK, at the brand’s facility in Sunderland.
Production will start towards the end of this year, following on from the previous Leaf, which was made at the factory from 2013. It will also be built at plants in the US and the firm’s home market of Japan. The outgoing Leaf was the first mass-market EV, with Nissan shifting 283,000 units over seven years.
