Our guide to which trim level might suit you

THE Rapid Spaceback range starts with the sparsely equipped S model, but you’ll have to move up to SE Tech to get this 1.6-litre diesel.

Put down a £1,500 deposit on a 36-month PCP deal, with 10,000-mile annual limit, and you’ll pay £271 a month. SE Tech spec brings cruise and climate control, a multifunction steering wheel and a 6.5inch touchscreen complete with sat-nav.

Move up to our SE Sport test car and 17-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof and tinted windows are added. That will cost £293 a month on the same contract terms.

If you go for the more saloon-like Rapid in SE L trim, that rises to £323 a month. The high prices are partly down to the car’s poor residual values, which mean it’s not a great choice on PCP or as a private buy; if you do that, you’ll lose a lot when it’s time to sell.

Our choice:

Rapid Spaceback SE Tech
