Subaru Infotainment Standard Key features: Nav, connectivity

-

SUBARU’S eight-inch touchscreen infotainment set-up offers more functionality than the unit in the Mitsubishi, featuring the same level of smartphone connectivity with Apple Carplay and Android Auto included, but adding to that with standard sat-nav.

The resolution of the screen could be sharper and the menu layout more logical, but there’s not much to split this and the Eclipse Cross’s system when it comes to ease of use; only the Subaru’s glossy screen is sometimes difficult to see in direct light.

Voice control is included, as is DAB, Bluetooth and USB charging ports to match the Mitsubishi. The picture from the reversing camera is clear, while the CD player is a slightly old-school feature in this day and age, but still more than welcome. There’s no upgraded audio, although the quality of the six-speaker stereo is a match for the Eclipse Cross’s nine-speaker set-up.
