THESE are busy times at the SMMT, which represents the UK’S car manufacturers and retailers, with the collapse of diesel sales and Brexit looming. Boss Mike Hawes has charted a careful path through the choppiest waters so far, but the stormy times ahead may call for some tough decisions.
