Where are all the good-looking new cars? There seem to be few about recently. In your 11 October edition, there is one on p41 (the Lamborghini Huracán Performante) and another on p51 (the Ford GT).
The Rolls-royce Phantom looks wrong from the front, as did the VII, but from other views it is okay.
BMW does not seem to have learnt from the Chris Bangle era. The designer of the X7 seems to be enamoured with the film Jaws. That car will scare small kids. Does the i8 not remind you of the rear view of someone bent forward with their trousers down?
Land Rover seems to have adopted the lazy German styling model for recent introductions. They all look pretty much the same. Need a new model? Then pump the old one up a bit or let some air out as needed. The Velar looks like a sat-on Range Rover. It seems the good designers at JLR have all moved into the Jaguar shop. Tim Grundey Via email
