Well that escalated quickly. My ‘lorry’ is undergoing a thorough restoration. I’m sad to say that the doors are too far gone. Also on the ‘can’t be saved’ list is the fuel tank: it is as rotten as a month-old peach, apparently.
The job of building up the basic structure has begun. A Land Rover enthusiast made the point that the shiny galvanised chassis would look a bit daft and attract the wrong sort of attention. We will get a load of Waxoyl or Schutz sealant and apply this treatment to the rear cross member. That way, it will just look like another old Land Rover.
