Traditional talent is latest performer heading to Craigie
Robyn Stapleton is the Saturday, April 1 guest at Music at Craigie, at Craigie Village Hall.
Robyn was awarded the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award in 2014.
Since then, she has become one of Scotland’s most sought after folk singers. With a pure tone, wonderful control and an empathy for traditional song, she has one of the finest voices in the Scottish folk music scene.
Robyn sings songs of her Scottish and Irish heritage. She has performed with many prestigious ensembles including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony and the Scottish Ensemble.
Brought up in south west Scotland, Robyn was first introduced to singing through the works of Robert Burns. Since then, she has performed his works on BBC TV and radio and alongside Oscar winning actors. Her second album is dedicated to Burns.
Keen to pass on her knowledge, Robyn has a strong reputation as a song leader and tutor.
Robyn performs widely throughout the United Kingdom and overseas. For this performance, she will be accompanied by Alistair Paterson on keyboards.
