ITV‘ s top team will head to Ayr

The ITV Racing team head to Ayr for next month’s Coral Scottish Grand National and I can tell you the presenters delivering the show on ITV 1 include Ed Chamberlin, Matt Chapman, Mick Fitzgerald, Luke Harvey, Alice Plunkett and Richard Hoiles.

We are all excited by being chosen as one of the meetings to be aired on the main ITV channel and I am sure this will be of great help in underlining the importance of the Coral Scottish Grand National within the National Hunt calendar.

I must give ITV top marks for their Cheltenham coverage having managed to catch up with most of it on the STV Player.

AP McCoy’s post- race chats with Ruby Walsh were brilliant and gave a real insight while Ed was relaxed and confident as he anchored the four days of live output.

I can’t wait to see the team in action here and I’m sure the loquacious Mr Chapman will be given a rousing reception from the punters at Ayr.

The live television, while being the main thrust of the media coverage of the Festival, will not be the only live broadcast.

Cornelius Lysaght and John Hunt will front a BBC Radio 5 Live programme on Friday afternoon and I’ll have news next week on another broadcasting ‘ first’ for Ayr.
