Youth treat will be biggest ever

Youngest age groups are age 7s and age 8s who will play fun 4s and super 5s. Ages 9, 10 and 11 will play seven- a- side.

Age 12 developmen­t will play a trophy free festival while 13s, 14s, 15s and 17s will play 11- s- side for Scotland Cups and Scotland Trophies.

Teams from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Eire will fight for the silverware and Duncan vows: “We are in a tremendous weekend of football and I’m convinced the 40th tournament will be a really good one. The crowds will be in for a treat.”

A host of household names such as Alan Shearer, Stevie Nicol and Paul Gascoigne cut their teeth at Rozelle.

But many, more pro stars can trace their beginnings to the Ayr tournament with Geordie raiders Cramlingto­n to the fore, supplying such as Anton Sinton, Gordon Fenton and Jack Colback.
