Wel­beck tee up char­ity cash

Com­peti­tors at the Troon Wel­beck Am Am over Lochgreen dug deep to be in with a chance of win­ning a lux­ury bot­tle of 40- year- old Malt Whisky, do­nated by club cap­tain, Pete Doyle.

A bumper £ 520 was raised in sup­port of The But­ter­fly Trust which of­fers help to peo­ple who suf­fer from Cys­tic Fi­bro­sis.

The cheque was ac­cepted on be­half of the But­ter­fly Trust by Arthur and Anne Glen whose daugh­ter Vic­to­ria lost her brave fight against Cys­tic Fi­bro­sis in Jan­uary.

Vic­to­ria, who re­ceived a dou­ble lung trans­plant six years ago, de­voted a huge amount of time to or­gan­is­ing events, rais­ing over £ 50,000 for char­i­ties such as the But­ter­fly Trust and was an ad­vo­cate for ‘ Live Life Give Life’ to raise aware­ness of or­gan do­na­tion.
