Bizarre hat biter gets work

A man who bit a po­lice of­fi­cer’s hat has been or­dered to carry out un­paid work.

Jim­mey McKil­lop, 34, ad­mit­ted a bizarre in­ci­dent where he de­manded po­lice ar­rested him – de­spite no ob­vi­ous ev­i­dence of a crime.

Po­lice ar­rived at his home in Pine Quad­rant, Gir­van, on Christ­mas Eve last year and were chased by McKil­lop who even­tu­ally re­ceived a warn­ing for his con­duct. But he kept lung­ing at of­fi­cers – and even­tu­ally bit one on the brim of his hat.

McKil­lop went on to bang his head off the inside of a po­lice ve­hi­cle af­ter he even­tu­ally re­ceived his wish and was ar­rested.

Sher­iff Mhairi Mac­tag­gart made him sub­ject to a com­mu­nity pay­back or­der where he must carry out 90 hours of un­paid work in the next three months.
