Ramblers: Change of route
South Ayrshire Ramblers h av e a c h a n g e f rom Saturday ’ s programmed walk, Falls of Clyde, due to Forestry operations .
Instead, they will offer an easy 6.5- mile walk starting at Changue Visitors’ car park east of Barr.
From the village, the walk climbs to the Carrick Forest. A descent to Water of Gregg and a visit to Kirstie’s Cairn are followed by a gradual climb up forested slopes.

Ayr & District Rambling Club offer two walks on Sunday. One group will head south of Carsphairn for a 10.5- mile circular walk on paths and open hillside, starting at Forrest Lodge.
The total ascent will be 960 metres and the walk is likely to take at least five hours. Details from David Allison on 01292 739529.
The easier option is a 9.5mile circular walk starting from Dalblair in the Glenmuir valley near Cumnock. The route first follows a track in the Glenmuir valley and branches to cross the moors on a straight track into the valley of the Gass Water. Details from John Walter on 01292 560341.
