Back in court

Ayrshire Post - - NEWS -

A jilted lover bombarded his ex with 100 unwanted calls and 80 text messages in just ten hours.

John McCurdie, 29, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week after breaching an order banning him from contacting Laura Lindsay.

Despite being subject to a community payback order, McCurdie repeatedly contacted Ms Lindsay on September 21, 2015, including trying to reach her on social media.

His defence agent Mandy Stewart told the court he had taken the loss of grandmother “exceptionally badly” and suffered a breakdown before the breach.

Sheriff Mhairi Mactaggart revoked the order that had been breached, and made McCurdie, of James Brown Avenue in Ayr, subject to a new community payback order where he must not contact Ms Lindsay for 12 months and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next three months.
