Enterkine marquee licence

Ayrshire Post - - NEWS -

A plush hotel has been given permission to retain its controversial party marquee for another three years.

Enterkine House, near Annbank, gained the green light despite a string of complaints to South Ayrshire Council over noise.

The future of the marquee has been under threat, with hotel bosses forced to spend £ 60,000 in soundproofing techniques.

Ent e rk i n e g e n e ra l manager, Colin Caird, said: “The planning permission was essential to us.

“Being able to host weddings and other events accounts for so much of our income and allows us to employ 60 staff and make a major contribution to the South Ayrshire economy.

“We do understand that noise from functions has to be managed responsibly and that is why we are working so hard with the council’s environmental health team to make sure we comply with regulations.”
