Garage plan rejected
A car giant has failed in its bid to expand on“sacrosanct” ground.
Park’s has been refused permission to develop its Honda garage at Donfoot.
The firm had wanted to create an extra 55 car parking spaces at the site near the River Doon, following concerns over a build- up of customer traffic using side streets.
But councillors rejected the move after visiting the site.
The application had sparked fury among objectors, who claimed it would shatter the council’s rules on open space.
Conervative Peter Convery said: “It’s a good business which has been there for a long time.
“The difficulty you have is using the ground there, which is somewhat sacrosanct.”
