Tom will be speaker

Ayrshire Post - - GIRVAN NEWS -

Girvan and District History Society’s speaker for the evening is Tom Barclay, the history librarian in Ayr.

The title of his talk is “Ayrshire before History.” a personal view of early sites and their Archaeology.

Ayrshire contains many traces of human activity from the time between the arrival of the first hunter gatherers and the arrival of the Romans.

This talk will look at a selection of the surviving remains, and place them in the context of early development elsewhere in Scotland and beyond.

New discoveries and scientific developments are broadening our understanding of the lives of our early ancestors.

Entrance ; Members £ 1, non- Members£ 2, this includes a cup of tea and a biscuit.

All interested parties most welcome.

Award Sir Alan Massey, CEO Maritime & Coastguard Agency and Alistair Jardine
