Party night to Brave lit­tle Marc leads the way as awards are handed out at glitzy Park Ho­tel bash

The first award of the night was the Child Brav­ery Award with AJ Gal­lagher.

This spe­cial award went to eightyearold Marc Craw­ford Smith, who has a con­gen­i­tal im­mun­od­e­fi­ciency dis­or­der which, trag­i­cally, claimed the life of his dad.

The lit­tle fighter, from Kil­birnie, spends a lot of time in hospi­tal and only got out last Thursday to at­tend the awards. His proud mum Hai­ley said: “He goes through ev­ery­thing with a smile on his face and so de­serves this stand­ing ova­tion.”

Marc said: “I’d like to thank ev­ery­one for the award and the nurses and doc­tors for look­ing af­ter me. I ap­pre­ci­ate ev­ery­thing they do for me.”

The Up and Com­ing Young­ster Award with GE Cale­do­nian was won by Kil­marnock school­girl Mor­ven Camp­bell, a tal­ented mu­si­cian and singer who con­trib­utes much to the life of the school and the wider com­mu­nity.

Mor­ven, a pupil at St Joseph’s Acad­emy, was nom­i­nated by her mu­sic teacher Mr Cowan, and she showed off her beau­ti­ful voice when
