Car thefts warning

Car owners are being urged to stay vigilant following a spate of recent thefts in the Prestwick area.

South Ayrshire Police Area Commander, Chief Inspector Gary I’Anson, said: “I would encourage everyone to be extra vigilant and to ensure that their car is secure before leaving it unattended.

“Please make sure all property such as bags, purses, sat- navs and phones are not on display. For additional security information please visit the Keep Safe section of the Police Scotland website or contact your local police office for more information.”

Anyone who has witnessed people acting suspiciously in the area or anyone who may have been offered stolen property for sale, contact police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
