Open cast clean- up
MSP Jeane Freeman visited open cast mine sites sites across East Ayrshire to see restoration work.
She said: “The restoration plans will leave a lasting legacy and bring the land back into use to be enjoyed by the local communities.”
Work on the Powharnal site, near Muirkirk, has created 25 jobs for the next five years, while work at the nearby Ponesk site is more than 70 per cent complete.
