Jump in for Northern Lights Series

-

Jump racing at Ayr continues on Wednesday, November 15 with the seven- race November Raceday.

The highlights are three qualifying races for the ‘ Northern Lights Series’ of races, with the finals being held at Carlisle in December.

The three races in question next Wednesday are a three- mile handicap chase at 12.30pm for the Staying Chase Series; a three- mile handicap hurdle for the Staying Hurdle Series at 1.35pm; and a two- mile furlong handicap hurdle for the Mares’ Series Hurdle and that goes off at 2.10pm.

Horses who then qualify for the Carlisle finals will race at their meeting on December 3.

The feature race on the Ayr card is a three- mile chase due to come under starter’s orders with £ 12,000 in the pot.

Look for Lucinda Russell, with four winners from the first two meetings of the season at the Craigie track, sending a good few runners as her stable really hits top gear, while James Ewart also has his horses well forward and will be looking for some winners.

Mike Smith will look for an opportunity for Nakadam who is well handicapped and ran a decent race to finish second on Saturday at the track. The two- and- a- half- mile chase at 2.40pm could be tailor- made for him.
