Bid for Barassie

Ayrshire Post - - Bob Shields -

Barassie’s the odd one out when it comes to community representation.

And community councillor Erica Williamson reckons it is missing out on facilities such as play equipment.

The area has not had a residents group in modern times.

Erica said: “It is part of Troon and I don’t think there is enough done for it by the council.”

But district councillor Phil Saxton defended their role, saying there was a playpark and football pitch at Queens Drive.

He added: “And I don’t think any of the councillors have been approached by any of the residents regarding the facilities. If they were to do so, we could take that up.”

Attempts could now be made to stir up some interest in forming a new residents group for Barassie.
