Inspectors praise Tarbolton

Ayrshire Post - - Cumnock And Doon Valley -

A school’s “high quality” performance has been praised by inspectors, writes Stuart Wilson.

Tarbolton Primary, which has just celebrated its first birthday in a new campus, received the glowing report this week.

Head teacher, Jackie Blair, was singled out for her “leadership and clear direction” of the revamped school and nursery.

It follows a two- day visit from Education Scotland inspectors in January, who also praised “happy, confident children”.

A “nurturing and inclusive ethos” was another of the strengths pinpointed within both the school and nursery.

South Ayrshire’s schools spokesman, Councillor William Grant, said about the report: “The new Tarbolton Community Campus has just celebrated its first anniversary and it’s great to see the new building is helping to deliver first- class education to children at every level.

“As head teacher, particular praise was given for Jackie Blair’s leadership, something which has helped to create an inclusive culture where teachers are confident to work and children enjoy learning.

“Parents and carers will take great comfort from this positive report and I’d like to thank everyone for their hard work in making the new campus such a success.”
