Keeping shivers at bay

It doesn’t look that warm, but it doesn’t take much to get them flocking to Ayr Beach. Not quite dressed the same as on Troon beach last week.

This was in 1960 and this Ayr family were making a day of it down on the sand.

Pre-package holiday to Spain, all our beaches used to be packed in the summer and train loads headed out of the cities as far as Girvan. Harvey Wade posted this pic on the Auld Ayrshire in Colour site.
