Fined for hav­ing wrap of heroin

a 51- year- old man has been fined for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of heroin.

Wil­liam Mcghie was caught with 0.2 grams of the class a drug on Fe­bru­ary 22 at Wreck road in gir­van.

Mcghie pulled out a small white wrap in front of of­fi­cers who asked him what it was.

so­lic­i­tor colin adam said his client “couldn’t re­mem­ber be­ing in the town.”

Mr adam said: “He had taken some al­co­hol and doesn’t know if he took some­thing else which at­tracted the po­lice at­ten­tion.

“He pro­duced, al­beit ac­ci­den­tally, the small wrap of heroin.

“He’s now tak­ing coun­selling for his pre­vi­ous ad­dic­tion prob­lems which were se­vere.”

Mcghie, of Dun­bae road in stran­raer, ad­mit­ted be­ing pos­ses­sion of Di­amor­phine.

He was fined £ 400.
