Help’s at hand for learn­ers

An ‘ in­spri­ra­tional’ plan will fo­cus on im­prov­ing com­mu­ni­ties across South Ayr­shire.

As part of the coun­cil’s new Com­mu­nity Learn­ing and De­vel­op­ment Plan 2018/ 21, four main pri­or­i­ties will in­clude: clos­ing the poverty re­lated out­comes gap for chil­dren and young peo­ple, sup­port­ing older peo­ple to live in good health, place plan pri­or­i­ties for Ayr North and place plan pri­or­i­ties for Gir­van Glen­doune.

Work­ing with part­ners such as Vol­un­tary Ac­tion South Ayr­shire, Ayr­shire Col­lege and NHS Ayr­shire and Ar­ran, they will be de­liv­er­ing ac­tiv­i­ties that sup­port young peo­ple, adults and com­mu­nity groups across South Ayr­shire.

Cllr Wil­liam Grant said: ““Over the last three years, 4500 adults have im­proved their knowl­edge and skills.

“This im­por­tant work will con­tinue over the next three years to en­sure there’s a level play­ing field when it comes to learn­ing.”
