Mic time at Marr
Some new voices will step behind the mic later this week as Marr College stages the first Young Singer of the Year competition.
Eifhteen soloists and two group ensemblies will be trying to impress judges.
The competition has been masterminded by Marr music teacher Kirsty Walker, who said: “Through this we have discovered some great new singing talent. And this augurs well as we look to our end of year musical in June.”
All the finalists, on stage in the assembly hall between 6pm and 8.30pm, won through an audition process.
South Ayrshire music teachers Lauren Hunter and Liam Baillie and musician Jeremy Levif are on the judging panel.
