Police probe two fires
Police were this week appealing information following two incidents of wilful fire-raising.
Fire swept through a property on Keir Hardie Hill, Cumnock on Thursday, July 9 at about 4pm.
And two half hours later, a domestic gas was abalze in Barrhill Terrace .
Emergency services attended both and the fires were extinguished. There were no injuries.
Detective Constable Keith Hyndes, of Kilmarnock CID, said:“We are appealing to members of the public who may have any information relating to either incident to get in touch.
“We do not believe these incidents are linked although both fires are being treated as wilful.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or who may have dashcam footage which could assist with our investigations to contact us.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101 or alternatively telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where calls are free and anonymity can be maintained.
