Bin the clampdown on parking charges

-

On SAC parking penalty charge notice, it states -“It is an offence for an unauthorised person to remove or interfere with this notice.”

Well . . . I’m guilty then. If picking up a parking ticket that’s blown through your pub door is“interfering”– all I ask is that the wardens go easy with their handcuffs! The ticket is dated 09/07/20 and was issued by attendant No PA12. And if you own a Renault with the reg plate that starts ME6 **** - I’d keep off the road for a few weeks! But last’s week’s front page outrage over a parking ticket “blitz”in Ayr is more than justified.

In one breath Nicola announces our shops are open . . . and in the next South Ayrshire Council clamps down on shoppers with cars.

MSP John Scott wants all the tickets already issued to be scrapped. An apology to all the motorists concerned wouldn’t go wrong either.

Meanwhile, what do I do with ticket number SAO1901383? I know – I’ll put it in my trouser pocket for safe keeping - just in case the wardens come looking for it.

And if they do . . . the trousers are in the Salvation Army clothing collection bin in Morrisons car park!
