ST EDWEN’S CHURCH: Service in the Candlelit Church every Sunday at 11.15am. LLANEDWEN/LLANDDANIE­L WI: On Monday, June 12, Peter Simpson gave an illustrate­d talk entitled “In Search of Rex Whistler”. Rex Whistler lived from 1905 to 1944 when he was killed in the war. His full name was Reginald John Whistler but known as Rex. The speaker and his wife have researched Rex over many years and have been all round the country to interview people. Rex came to Plas Newydd in 1936 and it took 6 to 8 months to paint the mural which was 58’ long and 12’ high and it took three months to hang on the wall. If any ladies in the area would like to become a part of The Llanedwen/ Llanddanie­l WI, there would be a very warm welcome awaiting you and you would be made a member of a friendly and outgoing group.
