ANGLESEY – “Ynys Môn” in Welsh – has contributed vastly to the variety and wealth of contemporary Welsh entertainment, and continues to do so to this day.

To coincide with the National Eisteddfod, which will be held on the island, a new collection brings together the best of the island’s talents, ranging in style from classical singing to the world of pop music, and from the traditional to the instrumental.

Sain’s archive of recordings has supplied most of the tracks, but more recent recordings have been included to bring the collection bang up to date.

Soloists, duets, choirs and groups – and they all have one thing in common, their innate love of music and singing.

Among those artists featured on the new compilation are Aelwyd yr Ynys, Elin Fflur, Iwan Llewelyn Jones, Tony ac Aloma, Côr Ieuenctid Môn, Hogia Llanbobman, Broc Môr and Hogia’r Ddwylan.

As well as Sain’s vast archive, some of the songs have also been specially recorded tor the collection.

The 40 track “Doniau’r Ynys, 40 o draciau gan artistiaid o Fôn”, is available to buy now from Recordiau Sain, priced £12.98
