THE PROJECT

Bangor Mail - - NEWS -

HORIZON Nuclear Power, a subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd, wants to build a two reactor power station close to Cemaes on Anglesey.

Each of the two UK Advanced Boiling Water Reactors would produce around 1,350 megawatts of low-carbon electricity, total capacity 2,700MW. This is enough to power around five million homes.

It would be built next to the existing Wylfa nuclear power plant which stopped generating at end of 2015. Electricity would be carried from the site on power lines across a new set of pylons on the island.
