THE company is preparing the Development Consent Order (DCO) application, the planning application to build Wylfa Newydd, which will be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate in the first quarter of 2018.

Two planning applications are also about to be submitted to Anglesey County Council. One application is for approval to improve the existing A5025 between Valley and the Wylfa Newydd Development Area, called the “on-line improvements”.

The proposed bypasses along the route will not be a part of this planning application, and will be part of the DCO application.

They will be constructed following Final Investment Decision – called the ‘off-line improvements’.

Subject to planning approval, work is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2018.

The second planning application is for preparing and clearing the main Wylfa Newydd site ahead of construction.

This work, all taking place within Horizon-owned land, will encompass clearing trees, hedgerows, boundary walls, translocation of species, demolition of remaining structures etc. This work, subject to planning approval, is expected to mobilise during February 2018.
