Man ac­cused of wav­ing axe out­side take­away

A MAN ac­cused of wav­ing an axe out­side a take­away has ap­peared in court.

Thomas May, of Mona Street, Aml­wch, ap­peared blood­ied and bruised when he ap­peared from cus­tody be­fore mag­is­trates at Caernar­fon.

Flanked by two se­cu­rity guards the 36-year-old spoke only to con­firm his name, ad­dress and date of birth dur­ing the fiveminute hear­ing.

He also in­di­cated that when the charges would be put to him he would be plead­ing not guilty to all six charges.

The court heard May faces charges of af­fray and pos­sess­ing an of­fen­sive weapon, an axe, which re­sult from an in­ci­dent out­side a food take­away shop in Aml­wch late on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 29.

May also faces charges of as­sault and mak­ing threats to kill on var­i­ous dates be­tween June 1 and Oc­to­ber 1 this year

Bench chair­man Elfed ap Gomer told May he was be­ing re­manded in cus­tody un­til De­cem­ber 4 when he will ap­pear be­fore a judge at Caernar­fon Crown Court.
