Fam­ily’s an­guish over dad killed as he walked on A55

THE fam­ily of a dad, killed when he was hit by a car as he walked along the A55, have been left “dev­as­tated”.

Der­wyn Alan Jones, 39, was pro­nounced dead at the scene of the col­li­sion on the west­bound car­riage­way near Llangefni on Tues­day last week.

De­scrib­ing the 39-year-old as a “much loved fa­ther, son and brother”, his fam­ily said in a state­ment: “We are dev­as­tated by the loss of Der­wyn. He will be sorely missed by his fam­ily and friends. The fam­ily have asked for pri­vacy at this dif­fi­cult time.”

The col­li­sion, shortly be­fore 7pm, in­volved a Vaux­hall Meriva car.

A po­lice spokesman said: “Po­lice are grate­ful to the wit­nesses that have come for­ward. How­ever, of­fi­cers are ap­peal­ing for any­body who was trav­el­ling along the A55 on An­gle­sey be­tween 6pm and 7pm (on Tues­day) who may have dash­cam footage show­ing the man walk­ing in the road to con­tact of­fi­cers on 101.”
