Cybi women within seconds of each other in Parkrun

Bangor Mail - - SPORT -

NINE Cybi Striders took part in the annual Deganwy Dash.

While everywhere else seemed to be having a mild and dry Friday evening, rain clouds were raging over Deganwy, making a flat seaside five-miler feel like a winter cross country puddle-fest.

For the Striders, the event formed the second race in the 2018 Club Championships.

The women’s race was super competitive, with all three Cybi ladies crossing the finish line within seconds - Hannah McPartland 38 minutes 44 seconds, Elen Jones 38.46 and Sian Ellis 38.40 pushing each other on for some impressive times.

In the men’s, Irfon Rowlands (31.19) led the way, followed by Peter Jones play in any position for the team. My weakness is that I need to get fitter. (31.57), Chris Tomas (32.54), Alan Radbourne (33.08), Russell Williams (34.30) and Dave Ellis (34.48). Dryer and warmer conditions welcomed three Cybi Striders to the 10th Henry Lloyd Abersoch 10k, which saw 1500 runners taking part.

First Cybi home was Kevin Clark in 42.04, 36th overall and second in age category, putting behind him a disappointing Liverpool Marathon, followed by Nigel Holmes in 47.03 and Diane Holmes 56.07

Strider Rhi Willmot completed the San Francisco Parkrun in 22.56, and was third female overall.
