Mystery of man’s body in ditch stays unsolved
INQUEST TOLD HE ‘BEHAVED ODDLY’ WHEN LAST SEEN
ing he was fine. Mr Chambers was the last person to see him.
His body was found 10 days later in the shallow waters of the ditch.
Pathologist Dr Mark Lord told the inquest at Ruthin: ”If you fall in the wrong way it’s quite possible to drown in quite modest amounts of water.”
Mr Wilcox wore a T-shirt and may have been hypothermic, he said.
Coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said: “We have ten days where we don’t really know what happened. I am inclined to believe he died at the beginning of that.”
He recorded an open conclusion as there were unanswered questions. He added: “The water could have been considerably higher than it was at the time the body was found.”
