Mys­tery of man’s body in ditch stays un­solved

His body was found 10 days later in the shal­low wa­ters of the ditch.

Pathol­o­gist Dr Mark Lord told the in­quest at Ruthin: ”If you fall in the wrong way it’s quite pos­si­ble to drown in quite mod­est amounts of wa­ter.”

Mr Wil­cox wore a T-shirt and may have been hy­pother­mic, he said.

Coro­ner Dewi Pritchard Jones said: “We have ten days where we don’t re­ally know what hap­pened. I am in­clined to be­lieve he died at the begin­ning of that.”

He recorded an open con­clu­sion as there were unan­swered ques­tions. He added: “The wa­ter could have been con­sid­er­ably higher than it was at the time the body was found.”
