Schools leading way to health

-

ANGLESEY schools and pre-schools are leading the way on a health and well-being journey.

Many of the children taking part in the National Healthy Schools and Pre-School Programmes celebrated their success at an award ceremony, held at Treysgawen Hall, before the summer holiday.

Ysgol Rhoscolyn and Canolfan Addysg y Bont have both reached the programme’s highest level and were presented with ‘National Healthy Schools Quality Award’.

Babinogion Menai nursery also received the coveted ‘National Healthy and Sustainable preschool’ award.

The Anglesey Healthy Schools scheme, funded in Wales by the Welsh Government, is a national scheme running in all areas of Wales. It is intended to improve health, raise pupil achievement, improve social inclusion and encourage closer working between health and education providers all across Wales and the rest of the UK.
