Woman cut free from car after collision

A woman had to be freed from her car using specialist firefighte­r equipment and was taken to hospital in Bath with chest and neck injuries after an incident on Landsown Road. A huge emergency response was needed after a crash involvling two cars in the road on Tuesday morning. Police, fire and ambulance crews all rushed to the scene. It happened near the Blathwayt Arms, after the junction with Lansdown Lane and before Lansdown Golf Club. Avon Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bath and Kingswood fire stations cut the roof of one of the cars involved. A woman was taken by ambulance to the RUH, South Western Ambulance Service confirmed. “A female patient was transporte­d by ambulance to the Royal United Hospital in Bath with suspected injuries to her neck and chest,” a spokesman said.
