School hits top spot for online presence

-

An independent school near Bath has been named as the number one independent school in the UK for its online presence. Monkton Combe School was rated as the top school in the independent sector for its web and social media presence in new monthly rankings which have just been released. It achieved the highest score possible for its Youtube viewings at 100 out of a possible 100 and scored highly for its web and social media activities, with its online engagement figures, reactions and shares reaching more than three times the education sector average. The school was awarded the top spot for July by the education website Edurank which analyses the online performance of independent schools and universities across the UK. Director of external relations Trevor Reid said: “It’s great to see Monkton getting onto the national stage once again. “Our most popular piece of social media was a feature on our school principal Chris Wheeler which saw him surprising our guests at our annual speech day by literally tearing up his script and walking out. “We had secretly recorded a fun film of him visiting pupils around the school and interviewing them about their highlights of the year. The film went down well on the day and has also proved very popular online.” Monkton Combe School, just a mile from Bath, is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 2-19.
