Ol­lie Tonge lead­ing the way

Wa­ter­proof map cases were the order of the day when Avon Schools held their sec­ond group of races in the 2018/19 Ori­en­teer­ing League in cold, wet con­di­tions at Blaise Cas­tle, Bris­tol. Win­ning their classes, and scor­ing 100 points for Kingswood School in the se­nior team com­pe­ti­tion were Oliver Tonge (Year 11, 5.3 Km, in 37:26 m.), Seb Crow (Year 10,4.2 km, in 104.17) and Al­berta Fryer (Year 9, 3.2 km, in 57:04). Com­plet­ing the team were Jamie Dale (Year 11 scor­ing 62), Ka­tia Volkova (Year 8 scor­ing 50) and Praeasha Limbu (Year 8 scor­ing 11). Their team to­tal stood at 423. In the pri­mary team com­pe­ti­tion the class win­ners for Kingswood Prep School were James Ar­dus (Year 6, 1.4 km, 11.59) and Alex Lowe (Year 5, 1.4 km, 11.19), scor­ing 100 points each and as­sisted by Ben Lowe (Year 5, 1.4 km, 11.54) scor­ing 95, Hans Mcphe­dran (Year 5 1.4 km 14:48) scor­ing 76, and Henry Mcauley (Year 5, 1.4 km, 15:26,) scor­ing 73. Their team score was 550. Those re­sults left Kingswood School still lead­ing the se­nior team com­pe­ti­tion with 1011 points (out of 1200), fol­lowed by Red­maids High School with 773. In the Pri­mary con­test Red­maids High Ju­niors lead with 1033, fol­lowed by Kingswood Prep with 994. The next Avon Schools League event will be at Old­bury Court, Bris­tol on Sun­day Novem­ber 11.
