Thou­sands of arte­facts ‘ miss­ing’ from Bri­tish museums

A Cartier di­a­mond ring (pic­tured right), worth an es­ti­mated £750,000, and a rare piece of quartz are just two of thou­sands of arte­facts be­lieved to have been mis­placed or lost by Bri­tish museums. Ac­cord­ing to fig­ures ob­tained by Sky News, 6,000 items are cur­rently lost, stolen, mis­placed or ‘un­al­lo­cated’ (thought to be in stor­age some­where).
